Your Garden This Month: November
Wow, November already, and so much do.
Trees and gardens need to be mulched, this will do many things besides just conserve water. Keeping the ground cooler in summer will help in so many ways.
You will need to keep an eye on your tree plants and veggies, to see if they are not being eaten by insects. Remember the three golden rules to pest control: observe, observe, observe.
And then there are the birds to deal with. Get your bird nets on, now that the fruit has set. More so than usual, the birds have been going for the fruit while it’s still green this year.
In terms of lawn mowing frequency for summer active lawns, you’ll need to come back to at least fortnightly. Why? Long overgrown grass results in energy loss for your turf plants.
And if you are going to scarify your lawn, now is the time to do it. Especially if you’re keen on a good-looking lawn for the summer holidays.
That’s it for November. Happy gardening!
